"500? Seriously? Jeez, if you'd have told me that in the first place I probably wouldn't have continued the debate."
Sure you would have. You're obviously as bored as I am.
Coffee is hot. Some coffee is hotter when it's served than other coffee is.
Some people will be burned more significantly with coffee that is the same termperature as is served to others who won't receive such burns (which can depend on age, health condition, or even what kind of clothing you're wearing).
But at the end of the day, she spilled it. I know coffee is hot. That's why I take extreme care not to spill it. WHen I do I say "Fuck" and blame myself.
Even if I were to scald my balls. Why? Because I performed the action that resulted in my balls being scalded. I'm not going to go out and try to discover if the ball burning coffee was served at a temperature higher than normal because I know coffee is served hot.
And again, if a McDonald's employee had spilled it, or even if the cup had failed, I'd be all for them being sued.
Had she kept the coffee in the confines of the cup (or even if she had put in the cream and sugar in a more responsible manner) she wouldn't have been burned, at 160, 190, or 500 degrees.
