RE: Concerning the physics of coffee and lawsuits...

"McDonald's themselves exceeded the safety range on their product."

However, to come under the safety range they would have to serve coffee at a temperature that could not cause injury at all. Period. Right? Lukewarm coffee anyone? Or let's just make it all iced-coffee.

But then comes the question of spilling the ice cubes on her panty-less cooter and getting freezer burn. "I knew it was cold, but that was TOO cold. Now my clitty doesn't work."

And the cup does say "Caution, Contents Hot." Seems like CYA to me.

We're just really going to have to disagree. Coffee is hot. Now theirs may have been hotter than other coffees but she still knew it was hot. And hot coffee will still burn someone, whether it's 180 degrees or 190 degrees.

And she still spilled it. If she hadn't performed the action of spilling the coffee we wouldn't be having this discussion. The cup wasn't faulty, the lid wasn't faulty. She was. She removed the lid and was attempting to put in cream and sugar while inside a vehicle, holding a cup of hot coffee with one hand and performing the cream and sugaring with the other. I don't even do that. I put the coffee in the cup holder and then put in the cream that way.

Hell next some dumbass is going to sue because the 160 degree coffee burned him because he was on the interstate when he spilled it and couldn't get over and it sat on his skin for 20 seconds.
