" I'm sure McDonalds brews a pot and MAINTAINS it at scalding temperatures, not allowing it to cool at all,"
You're sure? How are you sure?
Guess what? Have you ever spilled a cup of coffee brewed at a normal coffee brewing temperature on your clothing, where it could sit there and burn you?
I've spilled coffee on myself plenty of times - this morning in fact. Right on my bare hand - hot as shit, but I slung the hot coffee off and it didn't sit on my skin and burn me.
If I was in a car, and it soaked my clothes, especially the SENSITIVE skin on my DICK, ESPECIALLY if I were 81 years old (and it's proven they burn easier) then I could reasonably expect to have the shit burned out of me, especially since I wouldn't be able to move around and get the hot liquid off of me.
But it would STILL be my fault because I spilled the fucking coffee. That's the thing - she SPILLED it. If she hadn't SPILLED it, then there would be no lawsuit. She would have drank her coffee and had a nice buzz for the rest of the morning.
Hell, I'd even be for suing them if the cups they put coffee in were faulty and the lids wouldn't stay on with reasonable handling.
But she spilled it.
