that is a girl. JD. she has a swimsuit calendar too. it is pretty cool. they are fucking amazing, even better live. kathleen hannah definitely has cult status, but johanna and JD complete the group with no doubt. johanna is a hero to me as she makes most all of their music, and uses lots of eqpt i have dreams about. we are going to see them twice in june, and that is totally not enough. once here, once in san diego. i saw them two nights n a row last year with chicks on speed and erase errata.
anyhow, what is so great about le tigre is the fact that they use their platform and media to bring up and discuss so many issues that other bands skirt around or hide in some pseudo poetic song if kathleen and crew want to talk about mysogyny, they do, they want to call giulianni a bastard, they do. they really are in your face, but fun about it. i have heard so many people say they have become aware of a lot of new things because of bikini kill/le tigre. and even if you are not into that stuff, you can dance your ass off. if you have a chance to see them, you really should.
