"Does the end justify the means?"
When the means are a last resort, yes. Remember how many times we said "c'mon guys, please disarm, this is your last chance"
"Is it OK that LAPD police officers falsely imprisoned, framed and planted evidence to convict murderous gang members"
Hell no. I believe our laws are sacred and should not be circumvented. The UN is not a law-making body however. It's a bunch of guys who got together to provide a forum for promoting mutual security whose, frankly, premise has not stood up to the realities of our modern world.
"Getting the end result that you desire is not justified when the foundation of your freedom is circumvented"
I guess that's where we disagree. I think that we are safer and our freedom is enhanced.
"I must say, I am fucking APPALLED if your attitude is, "oh well, Iraq has no WMD, he turned out to not really be a threat to the world, oh well at least he's gone"."
I envy you John. Seriously, you sound really idealistic and I can see you want the world to be a better place, where everybody gets along with everybody else. Unfortunately the world is a messy place. For future generations of Americans I hope you realize that some day.
