another woodruf key question

does anybody know if glueing a woodruf key in its slot is a good idea? i had a new crankshaft, seemed like the woodruf key wasn't fitting so took a hammer and forced it in,thus damaging the edges of the slot. since i did this, no woodruf key keeps in. i already learnt to buy a non-magnetic woodruf key and somebody told me too late that i should have hitten it gently with the back of a screwdriver.now instead of re-welding this very precise slot i thought i just glued it into place with some locktite.everything about the engine is renewed and i don't feel like dismantling it another time unless it is really necessary... the woodruf key is just to have the rotor at the right position,no? the rotor itself stays in place by the widening form of the crankshaft and the narrowing form of the rotor? or not?i apologize for my bad english(JF et François, comment vous faites cela?)
