Go to Carnaby Street, and quite a few stores will have show listings, etc. Also, dont forget Camden Town. Do take a 45min train to Brighton. Good fun there although it will be cold.
Amsterdam, it's been 21 years since I've been there so I have no idea. Rotterdam has some cool folkes though.
