This weekend we split the cases on my VNB to replace the oil seals, and cruciform. In the process the piston got broken (!!), and we had to get a new one and fit it, with the rings that came with it. Now, when the flywheel is turned by hand, the piston and rings squeak when it goes up and down in the cylinder.

We ran it briefly, and there is a lot more vibration than before and a knocking sound.

So what have we screwed up here. Any ideas why it is doing this now.
