Li125 gearbox in a 175cc Lambretta?

I'm converting my Lambretta Li125 to a 175cc.
I got a used 150 jug and had it bored and honed to 175cc, new 175 piston + head etc..
But I only have the 125 gearbox available.
Do I need to upgrade the gearbox to a 150 or 175 in order to get a higher top end speed? will the 125 gearbox restrict my speed to that of a typical Li125 even with the bigger piston +jug?
